Group President, Red Deer Capital, Inc
Tell us about your professional history
Before joining Red Deer, I started my career at Aetna Inc. where I spent 8 years in varying roles. I really enjoyed my time there; I loved the corporate world - I enjoyed the challenges and opportunities that came with it and that professional experience set me up well for the shift to Red Deer.
My first Red Deer assignment in 2018 was to work in our UK group. During that time, my husband and I lived outside of Oxford, UK and I completed my MBA in London at Imperial College London before returning to the US literally weeks before the pandemic stopped the world. We could not have timed our return better!
As a fun note - during college I interned at Allan S. Goodman, Dave Heller’s business, which was a great experience at a wonderful business. It also certainly didn’t hurt my street cred back at college since I was well-versed in a plethora of spirits!
Tell us about your family
My husband and I live in South Glastonbury, CT with our two kids – Hayden (5) and Margot (2). Their boundless energy is very fun at this age but certainly keeps us on our toes! Many of you have met or know my husband Eric; he owns a fantastic fitness training studio in central Glastonbury, OnPointe Fitness, that keeps him busy.
Being at home with my husband and kids is my favorite way to recharge, slow down and be reminded of the important things in life. And sometimes the important things in life are to breathe and remind yourself that while permanent marker won’t come off the walls, the kids enjoyed the unsupervised activity, and we can repaint the foyer!
Tell us about your business
I’m a proud 2nd generation owner at Red Deer Capital. I’ve been involved in the business for just over 8 years now and I currently run a portfolio of divisions as Group President. It’s been very fulfilling to dig in and learn our history and what my father created and to be a driving force for our future.
Our family office focuses on M&A, investing in and growing businesses across a range of industries, and driving long-term value. We always aim to be true partners to the companies we invest in and own, and we believe in a values first approach and driving positive cultures that support the future of the group.
Tell us about your professional goals for 2026
2025 was a year focused on recalibration and making necessary changes to drive future initiatives forward. I’m excited to continue that work in 2026 and use the momentum we’ve built to drive more M&A activity and pursue targeted growth. I’m especially passionate about developing leaders within our portfolio and strengthening the operating practices that allow businesses to scale without losing what makes them special.
On a personal level, I’m always focused on being a thoughtful steward of a multi-generational enterprise and protecting our core purpose while continuing to evolve for the future. I’m committed to continuing to grow as a leader and learn from my peers who are navigating similar challenges – which is what makes YPO and particularly forum so valuable.
Tell us about a memorable YPO experience
I have many, many memorable YPO experiences! I was lucky enough to go on a bunch of YPO youth trips growing up, and I would say my most memorable experience was a YNG (YPO Next Gen) trip to Torremolinos, Spain in 2008 for a week-long leadership event. The location was amazing, the event was so well planned and engaging, the peers I met were incredible and it was an unforgettable experience. I framed my course completion certificate and a 1st place medal I won from one of the events to have as a reminder of the experience.
YPO global events never disappoint, but the youth events always felt extra special. Connecting with other kids who have a parent in YPO is so valuable and experiencing forum as a teenager was powerful. A handful of those peers I met are now also current YPO Members themselves which is a cool full-circle moment.
